Columbia, Tenn.– Pinewood Springs, a new joint venture behavioral health hospital operated by HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division and Maury Regional Medical Center, hosted a ribbon-cutting and open house today.
The 60-bed, 49,000-square-foot facility will provide acute behavioral health care for adolescents (18 beds) and adults (42 beds). The conditions treated at Pinewood Springs will include psychosis, schizophrenia, and other acute episodes of mental illness; mood disorders including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder; and co-occurring disorders.
“We are thankful to be able to meet such a critical need in Maury County and the surrounding area,” said Troy Chisolm, CEO of Pinewood Springs. “At HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division, we are committed to caring like family. Pinewood Springs is here to give behavioral health patients hope, to restore health, and to support the entire family during a difficult time.”
The hospital will provide tailored plans that may include comprehensive assessments, individual and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, physical therapy, therapeutic activities, family therapy, access to 12-step meetings, medical evaluation and management, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, and a treatment “mall” that allows patients to select from numerous skills-based classes. Each program emphasizes assessment, treatment and aftercare to enhance quality of life.
“Pinewood Springs is the culmination of our dream to fill the void for behavioral health services in southern Middle Tennessee as the nation and region face a shortage of providers. We are thankful for the expertise that HCA’s TriStar Division has brought to this endeavor and look forward to realizing the benefits for our patients and their families,” said Maury Regional Health CEO Alan Watson.
Pinewood Springs will employ approximately 100 providers and staff and includes semi-private rooms, 24-hour nursing care, outdoor spaces and a full cafeteria.
Patients and referral sources may call (877) 342-1450 to schedule an appointment for assessment. Confidential assessments, consultation, support, information and referrals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Details are at Pinewood Springs.
