Critical, or potentially critically ill medical patients, including:
- Progressive respiratory distress
- Severe respiratory distress
- Compromised airway
- Respiratory arrest
- Shock (non-traumatic in origin)
- Symptomatic dysrhythmias
- Cardiac arrest & ROSC
- Persistent seizures, status epilepticus
- Toxic ingestion / poisoning
- Metabolic, endocrine emergencies
- Decreased responsiveness; non-traumatic
- Near-drowning
- Smoke inhalation without significant burns
- Snake or spider bites
- Abnormal bruising and/or petechiae

- Isolated extremity fractures
- MVC, minor / low speed
- Lacerations without major trauma
