Critical, or potentially critically ill medical patients, including:

  • Progressive respiratory distress
  • Severe respiratory distress
  • Compromised airway
  • Respiratory arrest
  • Shock (non-traumatic in origin)
  • Symptomatic dysrhythmias
  • Cardiac arrest & ROSC
  • Persistent seizures, status epilepticus
  • Toxic ingestion / poisoning
  • Metabolic, endocrine emergencies
  • Decreased responsiveness; non-traumatic
  • Near-drowning
  • Smoke inhalation without significant burns
  • Snake or spider bites
  • Abnormal bruising and/or petechiae

  • Lacerations without major trauma
